NaadiyaM Couture Debut

Hello beautiful readers :-D

Last weekend I attended the launch of NaadiyaM, a range of modest, exclusive evening wear brought to us by Naadiya Moosajee. NaadiyaM is an “ethical fashion house specializing in evening and business wear for women combining modesty of the east with high fashion modernism of the west”.

The collection comprised a myriad of satins and lace in rich hues and richly patterned fabrics. These outfits would be perfect for wedding outfits, and the fact that they are modest means it would appeal to muslimahs looking for a glamourous, eastern inspired look.

These fabrics have been sourced from all over the world and as Naadiya put it, have been magically transformed into her own designs. The colours are bold, the fabrics beautifully patterned, so if this is up your style alley, head on over to their FaceBook page here (website will be launched soon).

I have included a few photos of the show, for further detail visit their FaceBook page:

No event is complete without pretty cupcakes

This was a particular favourite of mine, lace is always a winner

My red suede shoes

Hi Lovelies!

Summer is really on its way out… so are the summer outfits. Today’s look is from a while ago, an outfit I wore to a bridal shower. It’s a typical girly look, perfect for a Saturday afternoon tea with the girls, brunch or girly event.

This nude pleated skirt is so versatile and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. I forsee that these maxi skirts will see a another life next Summer, so don’t retire them just yet, you can even carry them through Winter :-D

I paired this maxi, with an essential denim shirt for a more casual take and my trusty red suede Guess pumps.

My outifit:

ZARA denim shirt
Skirt (own import)
Guess heels
ZARA slingbag
Country Road belt
Queenspark necklace
Bracelets by Tiffany & Co, and jeweller (old)
Gues silver earrings
Scarf gifted

Ciao for now,

Spree AW2014 OOTD Lookpost

 Hello readers!

My previous post was dedicated to the actual Spreecoza event, the beautiful evening and all their stunning outfits. In today’s post I would like to focus on the outfit I chose to wear to the event.

I am not really good at planning outfits, I will usually have an idea of what I’d like to wear and at the time I’m getting ready, inevitably change my mind. At the last moment I will change the entire ensemble and leave my walk-in closet in a state!

The same happened with my outfit for the Spree event and finally settled on a full leather skirt made by none other than… ME! It was the first time I had worn this skirt and was rather pleased with the outcome. I paired it with a Diesel t-shirt, my metallic silver pumps and a short denim bolero.

Outfit details:
Leather skirt made by ME
Woolworths RE: denim bolero
Diesel logo t-shirt
Country Road Belt
Falke net stockings
Shutz metallic heel by Stylemology
Accessorise clutch
Scarfstop scarf
Pearls (old)

The Next 48HOURS covered the event, and here’s my 30 sec clip. (Aired on DSTV, Thursday eve channel 263) It was really strange to see and hear myself on TV though eek!

Spree event AW2014

Hi beautiful readers!

Last Thursday I attended the very exciting Spree Autumn/Winter 2014 Lookbook and the launch of their menswear event. It was held at Wembley Square and was an absolutely stunning venue which looked very Ooh-La-La! It looked as if all of Cape Town’s best dressed had made an appearance. I even met Texas Battle (Bold and Beautiful) and although I don’t follow it religiously…. I know someone who is a total B&B diehard fan (ahem!) I was also so happy to meet more CT Bloggers and spend some time chatting, mingling and enjoying the event.

"Spree.co.za is an online shop where you can buy designer fashion selected and styled by your favourite magazines. Shopping on spree is easy, hassle-free and fun. It's also completely safe. Stay up to date on the latest trends, browse your magazines’ favourite styles, build up your wishlist, add items to your basket, and shop yourself fabulous.

I have purchased from the Spree store before and have only had great service, so when the gorgeous outfits hit the runway I was really excited but also very wary. As anyone who knows me will tell you, I do a lot of my shopping online, from local stores as well as a multitude of overseas stores, so these beautiful outfits mean bad news for the credit card :-(

The looks included Sports Luxe, a lot of relaxed flowing outfits, maxi dresses and skirts - all of them perfect for a modest fashionista like me! The animal prints, quilting & leather accents and sequins are all right up my style alley, so I’ll have to be super careful when popping things into my cart eek!

A HUGE thank you to Spree and my beautiful blogger pals for making it an enjoyable evening!

The Pringle Sequinned Maxi Skirt was a showstopper for me

Forest Ramblings with RAIN

Hi Lovely readers!

Last week, in the midst of our heatwave we were treated to an amazing day out by RAIN Africa in the Platbos Forest. The day dawned as stunning as expected, and I embarked on the 2 hour drive to The Gansbaai area to join my fellow Cape Town Bloggers on this adventure.

The venue is the origin of the RAIN Africa Tree mists, made by the custodian, Melissa Krige. I love the fact that for every mist she sells to RAIN she plants a tree in the forest. Melissa and her family live in the forest and have undertaken the mammoth task of ‘reforesting’ (I think that’s the word?) Amazing.

We started off by taking a slow scenic walk through the forest, with Melissa pointing out the various trees, their properties and how helpful their essences are to humans. I found it really interesting that she mentioned studies showed that just spending time in wooded areas would help reduce ADHD in kids and bring some calm. I can totally believe that, as we strolled along the paths it was so serene and tranquil, the worries of the city left behind in the parking lot.

Thereafter, we were treated to a lovely Summer picnic lunch, with Ronel entertaining us with anecdotes and telling us more about the RAIN brand and spa treatments. I simply adore their products, I have previously blogged about the brand and the Sole spa treatment (read more here).
The day was finished off with a relaxing shoulder massage to send us on our way…in true RAIN style.

Thanks to RAIN and Melissa for hosting us in such an idyllic setting and ensuring that we had a fantastic day!
