What I wore… the comfortable look

Hi beauties,

The day of the Blog Addict meet was one of those beautiful days in the middle of a string of days with plummeting temperatures. When we received the email telling us to dress comfortably and be prepared for some outdoor activity, I was initially disappointed as I love my heels. On another level, I adore my sneaker collection and my current go to pair for Winter are these black wedge sneakers. As many of my loyal readers know, I have been obsessed with wedge sneakers for two years now and the love affair just continues….

My comfortable outfit was my leather pants from Woolies (last year), olive jacket and the black wedge sneakers. I was so happy to score this jacket on last Winter Woolworths sale, and I can foresee many seasons where it will still be a favourite in my wardrobe. It’s so versatile and the leather sleeves are bang on trend.

Thanks Amina, for taking photos with my camera! That must’ve been hard hehe

My outfit:

Woolworths Leather pants
Woolworths Utility jacket (both last year)
Only knit jersey by Asos
Sneakers fro Kiss My Heels
Mr Price beanie
Colette Hayman Rose Gold Ring
Lovisa Rose Gold bracelet

Ciao for now,

RuBe xoxo

Blog Addict Meet at Onzerus Guesthouse

Saturday I attended a blogger meet at the Onzerus Guesthouse in Stellenbosch. A quaint little Dutch farm with such a tranquil air about it; we were also so fortuante to be blessed with a reprieve from the rain so we could enjoy the time outdoors.

I consider these meets as an opportunity to connect face to face with people I have met on this blogging journey. I enjoy the chats, the laughs and inspiration one gets from spending time with those who really ‘get’ me and  share the same views on blogging.

Kayli Vee, Siyaam and Zahrah gave us some insight into their respective blogging journeys and shared some tips.  We then ventured into nature and took a little walk around the farm, listening to the history from Esther Bezuidenhout, the  owner, and the inspiration behind the birth of the guesthouse and conference venue. She has such interesting stories and the philosophy she lives by is so refreshing, spreading love and cheer to the less fortunate.

All our goodies!

Relaxed Sunset

Hello beauties,

April has been a month of holidays, public holidays randomly peppered in every week. Whilst this is generally cause for great concern with reduced productivity (can’t help thinking like a business person eek) it also means some well deserved family time. During the last long weekend, we decided to take a leisurely drive to the beautiful dorpie of Stellenbosch and visit Gerry at Giraffe House, since Ihsaan is a huge animal lover. The older brothers got dragged along against their will, but scored a hearty Ocean Basket meal at the end of the day, which was great compensation.

The day ended off beautifully with us witness to another beautiful sunset on Strand Beach. I love the outdoors and feel its important to get my boys away from Playstation, Computers and TV when they’re on break from the hectic soccer schedule. It’s therefore important to grab the opportunities now before Winter is fully upon us!

Ameer is always happy despite being dragged against his will, Ziyaad, not so much ;-(

Feeding the goats, they’re pretty smart little animals
