What I wore… the comfortable look

Hi beauties,

The day of the Blog Addict meet was one of those beautiful days in the middle of a string of days with plummeting temperatures. When we received the email telling us to dress comfortably and be prepared for some outdoor activity, I was initially disappointed as I love my heels. On another level, I adore my sneaker collection and my current go to pair for Winter are these black wedge sneakers. As many of my loyal readers know, I have been obsessed with wedge sneakers for two years now and the love affair just continues….

My comfortable outfit was my leather pants from Woolies (last year), olive jacket and the black wedge sneakers. I was so happy to score this jacket on last Winter Woolworths sale, and I can foresee many seasons where it will still be a favourite in my wardrobe. It’s so versatile and the leather sleeves are bang on trend.

Thanks Amina, for taking photos with my camera! That must’ve been hard hehe

My outfit:

Woolworths Leather pants
Woolworths Utility jacket (both last year)
Only knit jersey by Asos
Sneakers fro Kiss My Heels
Mr Price beanie
Colette Hayman Rose Gold Ring
Lovisa Rose Gold bracelet

Ciao for now,

RuBe xoxo

Wedged Street Style

This past Mother’s Day weekend was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, mainly because this year, we decided not to fight with crowds for a table at restaurants. I spent such a relaxed day, doing very little, reading and spending time with my two Mums :-D

I do believe that Mother’s day should be everyday because of the “muchness” of a mother and what she accomplishes on a daily basis. But it is great having that one day, just to be acknowledged and shown how much you are cherished.

I hope all Mums had a fantastic Mother’s Day, and may you always be cherished by your families every single day.

Today’s look is a typical relaxed look for me, I suppose you could call it my “Street Style”.
I have paired my oversized denim shirtdress, with leather leggings and wedge sneakers.
I’ve also included my Makoya Brands Thiros versatile leather clutch to finish off the look. This clutch is the perfect size for everyday essentials and the chain length is just right for it to be used across body too!

My outfit:

Country Road Shirtdress
Woolworths leggings
Wedge sneakers from Kiss My Heels
Zephyr peak cap from Asos
Thiros Sling Bag by Makoya Brands
Legit necklace
Pearl earrings old

Perry Book Wedges

I'm sure I've mentioned before how much I covet wedge sneakers. And even though I bought a pair late last year, I've spill been wanting those Marants. So when the Perry Book stocked some red wedges, I was there in a flash.

I absolutely love these babies! They are comfy, stylish and the red pair make a statement!

It also seems as if t the wedge sneakers are hanging around for another season, as they've been spotted around for Spring/Summer 2013. So go ahead... get a pair!

I am wearing:
Legend denim shirt
ZARA t-shirt
Mr Price Scarf
Woolworths skinny jeans
PerryBook wedge sneakers

Wedge sneaker trend

I have been trying for months to get my hands on a pair of wedge sneakers since seeing the Isabel Marant sneakers debut last year. I finally found a pair locally, I have had such bad luck with customs recently and my international purchases getting ‘lost’, that I was not willing to take a chance on these babies. I had spotted them on the Asos site, and Steve Madden also recently stocked them. The prices were a bit steep for a trend I could not wear for work and only on weekends, and I happily found them on Zando at a fraction of the cost.

When I received them, I was a bit uncertain. I was not sure if I quite liked them, and thought I would have to style them to get the feel of wedge sneakers. I am a traditional converse or gym sneakers kind of girl, but this version of street style is a definite do :-)

Here’s my look post, my pair was inspired by the Forever 21 and Bowie wedge sneakers. It would be great  to hear your thoughts on this trend.
