Hi Beautiful Readers,

When the weather turns this bad just before Spring, it’s time to look forward to days when the sun comes out and warms the soul. Spring brings the hope of renewal, of nature showing us that there is a beautiful stillness after storm. In the same way, after a really dark time, whether it be mental or physical, hold onto the faith that better things are to come. 

The death of funny man Robin Williams, and the reports of his depression just prior to his death, has highlighted the debilitating nature of this disease. The importance is to be aware of the symptoms, to keep an eye out for the signs and offer support. It is such an overlooked disease, affecting all ages, all cultures. As a mum to teenagers, I am particularly alert to this, having heard enough horror stories of teen suicide.

Today’s post is aimed at brightening the mood and clothes can always lift my spirits. Floral is a big trend for Spring, and so are jumpsuits. I’ve paired this one with a lambskin jacket and my metallic heels for a festive feel.

The ‘Rachel Zoe’ jumpsuit

Hello readers!

I have had some really interesting developments happen to me in the blogosphere of late. First, The awesome SA Bloggers mentioned me in one of their articles, citing me as one of 2014 Bloggers to watch (see the article here ). It came as a huge surprise and I feel so honoured to be included on this list with 4 other amazing bloggers! Thank you SA Bloggers for your vote of confidence.

Recently I have been invited to participate in a blogger challenge, but more about that when the campaign kicks off. Watch this space for further developments.

I am addicted to pinterest, and find myself pinning away madly- there’s just so much to see! I’ve been following The celebrity stylist, Rachel Zoe, with a keen interest. I love her relaxed, bohemian style and she has so many facets to her style that I can relate completely. Being a mum on the run on the one hand and this creative soul needing to express oneself through fashion, I can totally identify!

This outfit has been inspired by Rachel Zoe, who is a fan of the jumpsuit, the only thing missing is my big shades (oops!)

Floral Graduation celebrations

Last month my father-in-law achieved an amazing milestone, he graduated as a Doctor of Philosophy. He is an eternal scholar, an amazing role model and a wonderful dad and grandfather. He bears testimony to the age-old adage that one is never too old to learn; and embodies the saying: "The education of a man is never completed until he dies", by Robert E. Lee. Our dad inspires us to be the best that one can be and to continually seek self-improvement through knowledge.

I totally subscribe to this philosophy and will strive to pass this credo onto my kids, Inshallah (God willing). I can only hope to be as good an example as he is.

It was therefore fitting to celebrate his achievement at one of  his favourite restaurants, Pigalle. Since my sister in law and her hubby are in Mecca on pilgrimage, there were twelve of us (although they were sorely missed). It was an unusually chilly weekend for spring, and the previous night was his ceremony at the university was absolutely freezing! Brrr!!!

My choice of outfit for the evening was a floral Mango dress, with my imported leather jacket.

His first time at a fancy restaurant and he was so impressed!
